Actually Good Gear started from a simple frustration: most gear reviews online read like they were written by someone who’s never touched the product. Sponsored rankings, recycled spec sheets, “best of” lists that are really just affiliate link farms.
We do it differently. Every review here is based on gear we’ve actually used — worn, packed, dropped, rained on, and occasionally cursed at. We test it the way you would: out in the field, not in a studio.
Our only real editorial standard is one question: would we buy this with our own money? If the answer’s no, we say so — no matter who makes it or what it costs.
